Choosing Coach Shoulder Bag Value and Longevity

Coach Bags: Each Line Explained

Established in 1941, Coach initially focused on men’s small leather goods, but women’s handbags came later and grew into the heart of the brand. Now, coach handbags run from tailored shoulder bags and soft hobos to satchels, carryalls, crossbodies and reissues from the archive. This rundown takes each key line in turn, looking at what the bag is, when it appeared and how it is made. When a launch date is documented, it is noted; several popular lines, though, have no reliable launch year on record.

The prices here are observed market prices from 2026 rather than an official price list, and they shift with size, material and promotions. A buyer choosing a first coach bag should know that similar names can cover very different designs. Some buyers type “couch bag” when searching for a Coach bag, which can pull listings for furniture into the results because the first word also means a sofa.

The Tabby Line

The Tabby is a structured shoulder bag which also serves as a crossbody, featuring detachable straps and Signature “C” hardware. The designer Stuart Vevers introduced it in 2019, and its silhouette comes from Coach’s 1970s archive. Fashion photographer Juergen Teller reportedly photographed the bag’s launch campaign, “Dream It Real”. The core product name is Tabby Shoulder Bag, and sizes 20, 26 and 36 have been listed.

Product names like Tabby Shoulder Bag 26 With Pillow Quilting refer to the puffy Pillow Tabby, which followed in 2021. The Tabby 26 was observed at $475 in the US and £475 in the UK, with quilted and special-edition versions listed higher. Its easy switch between shoulder and crossbody wear makes it well suited for buyers who want one bag for both day and evening.

The Brooklyn Family

Far closer to a hobo than to the structured Tabby, the Brooklyn is a slouchy coach shoulder bag crafted in natural-grain leather. Having appeared on the Fall 2024 runway, it launched in August 2024. The Brooklyn 28 and coach sale bag the bigger Brooklyn 39 stand out as the two main sizes reported to date. Billed as spacious enough for a 15-inch laptop, the 39 works as a practical work bag.

Distinct from the shoulder styles, a newer Brooklyn Carryall shape was reported for Spring 2026. The Brooklyn 28 was observed at £350 at John Lewis on the UK market. The RealReal’s 2025 resale report noted that searches for Coach had climbed 160% and listed the Brooklyn among its examples; this number, however, measures searches rather than resale prices.

The Rogue Family

Built with top handles and a shoulder strap, the Rogue is Coach’s firmly structured satchel. Introduced on the Fall 2016 runway, the bag was subsequently discontinued; a 2021 relaunch brought it back. At the very top of Coach’s leather range, the line includes versions in regenerative leather and exotic skins. The steepest Coach bag price observed in 2026 came from a Rogue 25 in alligator, observed at $8,000.

Reportedly, a Made-to-Order Rogue from Coach has taken roughly 12 weeks, stretching to about 16 weeks when exotic materials are used. By way of Coach (Re)Loved, the brand’s own resale and repair program, restored Rogue bags have also surfaced. A good number of collectors see the Rogue as a showcase for how far upmarket Coach craftsmanship can go.

The Empire Carryall

The Empire Carryall is a long, east-west top-handle bag listed as the Empire Carryall Bag 34. It reached shoppers in February 2025, following being shown on Coach’s Fall 2024 runway. The bag sold out on the day of its release, according to fashion press reports. Less structured variants called Soft Empire, including a Soft Empire 40, are different styles from the structured Carryall 34.

On Coach’s own site for the UK, the Empire Carryall 34 was observed at £475. Its long top-handle shape renders it a dressier alternative to a coach tote bag for everyday carrying. Anyone comparing listings should look at the number after the name, since 34 and 40 are different bags.

The Kisslock Trio: Frame, Dreamer and Barrel

Modeled on vintage coin purses, the frame clasp called Kisslock is a detail that Coach ties to the Bonnie Cashin era. Several different bags share the term, and they should not be treated as one. Reported as the opening look of the Fall 2026 show, the Kisslock Frame Bag in glovetanned leather had an observed price of $350. Earlier Kisslock Frame versions also show up in listings, so the family could predate that show.

Made with quilted nappa leather and rivets, the Kisslock Dreamer 21 is an older style, today found largely as restored or upcrafted pieces through Coach (Re)Loved. The Kisslock Barrel Bag is a Spring 2026 Coach Originals reissue modeled on a 1973 design. Bringing yet another use of the name, a Kisslock Backpack was also unveiled for Fall 2026.

Swinger, Swing Zip and The Coach Originals

Built from newly made reissues of archive designs, The Coach Originals is a line of bags that are new rather than vintage. According to Coach, the original Swinger design dates from 1987; it is a short-strap, zip-top shoulder bag featuring a turnlock. The current version is the Swinger Bag 20, also sold With Chain and in Signature canvas or jacquard. The Swing Zip is a separate Coach Originals bag drawn from a 1998 design, so the two names are not interchangeable.

The Safari Bag from 1968, the Dinky from 1974 and the Hamptons Hobo from 2005 were among the other Originals reported in early 2025. No later than 2020, the Coach Originals name was reportedly in use. For buyers who want an archive look without the wear of a properly vintage piece, the line makes sense.

The Soho Names: Bag 25, Flap and Sneaker

Because it covers three different products, Soho is one of the most confusing names in the Coach catalog. The original Soho Flap first arrived in 2006. Unlike that 2006 bag, the Soho Bag 25 is a smaller, newer reissue, offered in materials such as glovetanned leather, patent leather and crystal jacquard. Soho styles belong to The Coach Originals, and a Soho Flap Bag in regenerative leather has also appeared in listings.

On the other hand, the Soho Sneaker is footwear Coach showcased in 2025 and 2026, so it belongs with shoes and coach clothing rather than handbags. A search that includes “Bag 25” or “Flap” tends to separate the bags from the shoe. No reliable current price for the Soho bags was captured, so consult Coach’s own website before buying.

The Willow, Cassie and Juliet Lines

View any launch date you see online with caution: these three lines are familiar, but none has a documented launch year. A Willow Bucket, a Willow Shoulder bag and the Willow Tote 24 have all belonged to Willow, a family in pebble leather. The Willow Tote 24 is a simple example of a coach tote bag, whereas Coach’s own website has also featured a Custom Willow Tote. Cassie is a crossbody and top-handle design, which includes the Cassie Crossbody Bag 19 with a Signature turnlock and interchangeable straps.

Coach’s own website still lists Cassie styles using newer style codes. Cut from glovetanned leather, Juliet is a soft, slouchy shoulder bag with versions such as the Juliet Shoulder Bag 25 and the Pocket Juliet Bag 30. Availability changes with the seasons, so confirm whether a given Willow, Cassie or Juliet style is still current before trusting an older review.

Observed Prices: All the Lines at a Glance

In the table that follows, the main lines are set out together with their shape, key date and an observed 2026 price where one was reliably captured. These are observed market prices, not an official Coach price list, and they vary with size, material, color and promotions. US prices exclude sales tax, whereas UK prices include VAT. Full-price styles can be reduced during sales, and a coach outlet runs its own promotions on outlet styles.

Run as Coach’s own official channel, Coach Outlet operates through outlet stores and an official online outlet section on Coach’s own website. In 2014, Coach’s head of investor relations was quoted as saying about 85% of outlet merchandise was made specifically for the outlet channel. That figure is dated, and Tapestry has since discussed bringing some full-price collection product into outlets. When shopping for current-season lines, a full-price coach store or Coach’s own website continues to be the place to shop.
